FRED CAMPER READING
It never occured to me, but also totally makes sense that avante-garde and experimental filmmakers were not down with being called such. They also make some compelling arguments as to why that name doesn't fit. The one where the guy is saying he did many experiments but left them on the editing and that what he puts out is a completed work is the one that resonates the most with me. I remember trying to apply those six characteristics in my first student film. Especially the one about using materials that call attention to the medium. Putting scenes together completely void of narrative.
